Popular Roulette Strategies
Over the years,
gamblers and mathematicians have developed several strategies
with which to beat the roulette table. While no strategy or
system has ever been proven to work reliably – after all, if
one existed, casinos would have to stop offering roulette
altogether – they can certainly make this game of chance a
little more interesting. In this article, we shall explain how
some of these systems work, and what their relative benefits
and risks are. If you fancy putting some of these strategies
to the test, then you might want to pay a visit to the

The most famous
roulette strategy is the Martingale system, which involves
doubling your bet every time you lose, so that the next winning
bet will cover all previous losses. It can work in some
circumstances, but if you go on a bad losing streak you could end
up losing your entire kitty very quickly indeed.
The
Labouchere system is seen as a less risky progressive betting
strategy than the Martingale. In order to employ this system, the
player has to first write out a line of numbers. The size of the
bet is determined by adding together the numbers on either end of
the line. When the player wins, they cross out these numbers,
continuing to work on the smaller line. When the player loses,
they add the previous bet to the end of the line. This system is a
lot more flexible than the Martingale, as you can choose numbers
for the initial line to suit your own preferences.
The
Fibonacci system is based on a
mathematical sequence of numbers, in which the next number is the
total of the two previous numbers added together. The first few
numbers of the Fibonacci sequences are as follows:
1, 1, 2,
3, 5, 8, 13, 21
This
sequence is applied in a progressive strategy much like the
Martingale. However, instead doubling the bet each time you lose,
you multiply your bet by the corresponding number in the sequence.
So, if you lost three times in a row, you would bet twice your
original stake, and if you lost six times in a row, you would bet
eight times your original stake. This system reduces the risk that
you will lose all your money in a short
space of time, although if you go on a long losing run, then you
could still lose it all with this system.
